Thinking about you John and get well soon.

It was brought to our attention this evening some bad and good news about John Wilkinson. The bad news being he had been burdened with the awful news that his cancer had returned and as would be expected feared the worse. The good news is that the outlook is extremely positive and that John will be commencing chemotherapy from his home followed by a five day treatment of radiotherapy a couple of weeks later. His doctor is confident that the treatment will get rid of the cancer. This is wonderful news.

Meanwhile we should all keep John in our thoughts and our prayers through this time.

Dale Hawkins dies

Dale Hawkins 'Mr Suzi Q' who will always be known as the architect of 'Swamp Rock Boogie' passed away in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA yesterday after losing his fight with colon cancer at the age of 73 years.

Dale will always be remembered for his classic 1957 hit Suzi Q along with James Burton who wrote and provided the riff at just 14yrs of age before Dale added the lyrics. Dale and James both played together at the Ponderosa Stomp and The House Of Blues Jazzfest in New Orleans in 2009. 

We would like to extend our heart felt sympathy to Dales' family and friends at this sad time.
